Castlebrook is a successful, mixed comprehensive school with 900+ students on role. They have just been awarded specilaist status in science and technology. Following this, and their link with Costain, Castlebrook are commencing building work in September 05 for a centre for Construction Excellence. The facilities at Castlebrook will be opened up for twilight and evening sessions for the wider community. Through links with the local primary schools and colleges, children and students from the ages of 5-19 will also be able to benefit. The CITB foundation certificate in Building Craft Occupations, and the CITB Construction Award Scheme will be run from the new centre
The link with Costain gives the students an exciting opportun ity to have a real construction focus in the curriculum and complements Castlebrooks status as a science and technology college.
