Building Awareness aims to raise Young People's awareness of the Construction Industry through direct involvement and partnership with a number of schools across the UK. Costain and its partners are committed to providing resources and funding to support events and activities, work placements, sponsorship and much more to give students and teachers the opportunity to find out about what we do.

Building Awareness is linked to the Costain business strategy. It brings together all industry stakeholders - professional institutions, schools, training boards, the business supply chain, and Costain's own staff - together with a common purpose. To reverse the shortfall trend by lifting young people's sometimes inaccurate, and unfavourable perception of construction as a career.

The well-earned reputation of Costain's project management teams has made Costain a first choice for major, world-changing projects that demand imagination, initiative and high levels of technical and managerial skill. The Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong is one of the world's longest and most technically complex suspension bridges. The 2,170m double-decked bridge, which carries road and rail traffic, received both the Supreme and Civil Engineering Awards from the British Construction Industry. Costain joined a 3-way Anglo Japanese construction joint venture to build this £550m contract.
